A.T.A. Carnet
What is an ATA Carnet?
The ATA Carnet is an international customs document that permits duty-free and tax-free temporary import of goods for up to one year. The initials "ATA" are an acronym of the French and English words "Admission Temporaire/Temporary Admission."
ATA Carnets cover:
. commercial samples;
. professional equipment;
. goods for presentation or use at trade fairs, shows, exhibitions and the like.
That means almost anything; computers, repair tools, photographic and film equipment, musical instruments, industrial machinery, vehicles, jewelry, clothing, medical appliances and aircraft, race horses, old masters, prehistoric relics, ballet costumes and rock group sound systems are just a few some of the items that can cross borders duty-free and tax-free, thanks to ATA Carnets.
Please note, ATA Carnets do NOT cover perishable or consumable items or goods for processing or repair.

Insurance
Our open policy with ROANOKE International Insurance Brokers allows us to provide the insurance coverage that you require at very favorable rates. IGS PLACE insurance with the insurance company, meaning that we (ourselves) do not insure your freight (ROANOKE International Insurance Brokers) does. The money does not come from our account should you have claim. The insurance company will either want proof of a lost shipment, or send an adjuster in to view the damage. They will then place blame with whoever lost or damaged the freight, and the insurance company will pay you the claim amount. The insurance company then subrogates against the company(s) that caused the loss/damage.
Export Packing & Crating
Our Packing extends to every kind of art and artifact, ranging from old Masters paintings to large contemporary works or arts, and from Mimbres pottery to heavy metal sculptures and antique firearms. We can provide single use shipping crates or soft packing for objects of all shapes and sizes.
Hazardous Cargo
At IGS, we prepare your dangerous goods shipment for packaging in accordance with all applicable regulatory agency rules. We can package all type of cargo for whatever transportation means is required, whether by air, ocean, truck or rail. We will provide the necessary marking and labels, ensuring that your shipment is clearly and correctly identified and will be accepted by all air, ocean, road, and rail carriers. IGS provides all the necessary documentation as required by carriers and the various regulatory agencies.
